This Saturday Volunteer Park Conservatory is having their first ever plant pop-up shop, hosted by the Palm House Gift Shop! The event will be August 7th from 11:00-3:00 pm located in the front lawn of the conservatory. What better way to get out of the house this weekend to enjoy these beautiful gardens and support such a great part of our community.

The conservatory’s historic landmark status reflects the peculiar architectural characteristics of this Victorian glasshouse, a true showstopper in the center of Seattle Parks. The historic Victorian greenhouse was modeled after London’s Crystal Palace back in the early 1900’s. The beautiful glass greenhouse is encompassed with elegant lawns and gardens of the celebrated Olmsted park.

There are five bordering temperate houses the Conservatory showcases with an abundance of vast varieties of tropical and subtropical plants. Wandering through these gardens is an exceptional way to relax with a beautiful view of plants that you wouldn’t normally see. To learn more about the amazing history and architecture of Volunteer Park’s Conservatory and many other conservatories, order a copy of our book, “The Conservatory: Gardens Under Glass!
